Ask anyone. "How do I improve?" The answer, usually "Practice". I am the type of person that expects results in a week. Expects to finish a big project in a month. And then, after not getting very far, doing something else. Recently though, I have a little sense of accomplishment!
I have been practicing pixel art since Dec 2014. That is insane for me! And as much as I know that it takes constant practice, learning and research to be good at something, this is probably the first time I have kept following through with something. And, as I had a look through my own gallery (commenting vainly to myself how good the art was, and madly replying "why thankyou!"), I started to see the result of practice. Although I still can't quite draw a tree, or a tiling grass tile that I am truly satisfied with, I have taken the challenge of drawing some things that I wasn't sure about or good at, and learned so much from the process.
There are always heaps of good tips you might receive from people. Some might include looking at everyday objects and studying how the light affects them: Copying the greats and learning their process: Watching or reading certain tutorials: Asking others for advice. But all in all, the most boring and repetitive, but great advice you will ever hear is PRACTICE! Sorry you had to hear it one more time! haha
Although I don't feel that I am accomplished as an artist yet, I will leave some examples from my own gallery showing how practice over my time "pixelling" has affected my work. Feel free to comment some examples of your own! Maybe it will be the inspiration some of us need to continue the journey, even when it might at some time feel like a grind!

Artist Spotlight - 1Eni1
Okay, time for another artist spotlight. I have followed 1Eni1 (https://www.deviantart.com/1eni1) for quite some time now ( in fact since about January 2016!), and now and then, the work posted is masterful. I was even able to get one of his earlier works accepted as a Daily Deviation! ( )
1Eni1 (https://www.deviantart.com/1eni1) has created work that includes stuff that frustrates a lot of artists. Stuff like rim lighting, night scenes, sunsets, interesting perspectives, great foliage and fantasy themed scenes. You need to see this gallery! https://www.deviantart.com/1eni1/gallery/?catpath=/
Here are some of 1Eni1 (https://www.deviantart.com/1eni1) 's works that have impressed me!
And for an absolute masterpiece...

Artist Spotlight - MomentaryUnicorn
Time for another artist spotlight!
Today I bring you MomentaryUnicorn (https://www.deviantart.com/momentaryunicorn) !
I have watched her since some time in January 2016, and seen her art improve, develop, and surprise! It is a cool thing to watch someones art develop, and change throughout time. Sometimes her art is super polished, or just has an amazing attention to details. I always keep an eye out for watch she might draw next!
Here are some of my favourite pieces....
This is just some of the pixel goodness in her gallery, and there is heaps more! Including some other forms of digital art as well :)
Check out her gallery here! https://www.deviantart.com/momentaryunicorn/ga

Pixel Artists that Inspire!
I have always wanted to male a list of some of my favourite pixel artists so others can see and be inspired by them. I have found many, some by accident, some by popularity. Some I watched grow right before my eyes. Sometimes I feel that there is art or artists the world needs to see, so here it is: the "list"
Pixel Artists
These first few artists are amazing artists with a lot to share. I have learnt a lot from their tutorials and art/words they have shared.

I started out with pixels in October last year, and made this as the second thing:
Now, 9 months after, I made this:
I personally love the way I did the wool and the shading, despite the fact that there's no dithering or anything.
And even though these are not the same kind of thing, this has been my journey from then to now:

At the moment I'm working on an isometric pixel room
